Aims and Scope

The South African Journal of Human Resource Management (SAJHRM) is a research journal that aims to provide a forum for the exploration of issues and experiences relating to employment studies and people management in organisational teams. Original research within the fields of Human Resources and Business Management, that seeks to make a substantive contribution to the effective attracting, maintaining and management of personnel, are welcome to submit their article.

Languages: English and Afrikaans

SAJHRM accepts manuscripts in the following intended categories:

Original articles: Original research articles should inform readers of innovative research in a particular field within or related to the focus and scope of the journal, presented according to a clear and well-structured format. Research published in this section should add to the existing body of knowledge published in this field. (between 3500–7000 words, maximum of 60 references).

Publication frequency: SAJHRM publishes at least, one issue per year, but individual papers will be published as soon as they are ready, by adding them to the 'current' volume and issue’s table of contents. In this way, SAJHRM aims to speed up the process of manuscript publication, from submission to becoming available on the website. It might be that other special issues are added on an ad hoc basis to the journal throughout a particular year, which will form part of consecutive issues thereafter.

We encourage authors who are uncertain whether their manuscript is appropriate for SAJHRM to send a title and abstract to the Editor-in-Chief (editor@sajhrm.co.za) for preliminary evaluation.
